Hello!
We are pleased that you are considering the Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) Residency Program here at Loma Linda University. We are based in the 13th largest metropolitan area in the United States (serving approximately 4.6 million people), which is larger than 25 states! We have a large referral base as well as a variety of disease processes and acuity. Residents rotate through Jerry L Pettis Memorial VA Hospital in Loma Linda, the only children’s hospital in the Inland Empire and our primary academic hospital at our new hospital towers, and our primary county affiliate at Riverside University Health, which affords a wide variety of clinical experiences.
Our faculty is united in our goals of delivering excellent clinical care as well as providing excellent, quality education to our learners. Our graduates complete training well prepared for any career choice – academic or private practice in outpatient and/or inpatient general practice, fellowship, hospital leadership, etc
Our faculty and residents embodies Loma Linda University’s motto ‘To Make Man Whole’ by emphasizing the social and spiritual components of each patient/family encounter as well as their physical concerns. We accomplish this by having diverse faculty and residents with diverse backgrounds and beliefs. We also strive to emphasize ‘Whole Resident Care’ by having a collegial and respectful atmosphere among the residents, faculty and administration to foster a sense of camaraderie.
We currently accept 4 residents per year and have a total complement of 16 residents in our program. We invite you to review the information on our webpage. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We’d love to be able to help answer any questions and are looking forward to meeting you soon!
